Yup…you, too, can learn about BDSM from a bona fide Dominatrix who teaches legitimate classes. I read this article about a woman in the UK who teaches a dominatrix masterclass, which beyond instruction on safe BDSM, can also teach women to be more comfortable being dominant in the bedroom. Of course I was so fascinated by this article that I had to do an internet search via my new search engine duckduckgo that I am now using instead of Google (that’s a whole other story). So…for all those budding dominatrixes out there, classes are available in the US as well, including academies that offer certification. Although, not everyone can earn this certification. I suppose, like higher education, they have their standards.
As I read the article, I was amazed by the author’s experience and the side benefits of the class. The class not only taught about the different toys used, safe practices, how to deal with a brat (a submissive who challenges the authority of the dominatrix), how to properly paddle someone, and so much more. But the most astounding thing learned from the class for this woman was how to be more assertive in general, not just in the bedroom. For her, the hardest part about wielding power was learning that she could. The class gave her the confidence to explore a side of herself without fear or shame and opened her to exploring many other new experiences. And isn’t that worth it? No matter what a person’s personal preferences regarding bedroom activities, gaining confidence is a good thing.
I’ve only written one short story with BDSM. I had to make sure I got things right by asking one of my Facebook pals to beta read it for me. I suppose if I had taken a class, I would have had more first hand knowledge. Most authors do a lot of reading to research topics and physical research often takes a back seat. Well, I think I’m another fan. Not sure yet, why..This article popped up while “internet-pondering” a new acquaintance; a gal who’s beautiful but does not know it, and quite shy. I think I want to dress her..and help to teach her.. to think and speak like a dominatrix. I don’t know if she’ll be open to it, but, your openness in your writing, willingness to to share your inner thoughts, and in a simple and revealing way have led me to send this message. I’m intrigued by your writing style, but your thoughts on this subject – just the few words in this post – have somehow crystalized something in me..a fascination and certainty on this topic. I’m an old guy in my sixties, never had this inclination before, and have always been more of a satyr than a dom or sub.
