Okay…granted, this is not a topic I could do a ton of research on…because, of course, we are only in the 21st century. But that didn’t stop me from writing several scenes in my new book coming out in April, A Moment in Time. However, I did do a quick search to see if there are existing books that include 26th century sex toys. To my utter surprise and delight, there are! I won’t list them all; suffice to say, they exist. Too bad I didn’t Google this before I wrote those scenes. Instead, I depended on my demented little brain to think up futuristic sex toys, and I’m going to share those scenes with you here!

Scene 1:
“Fine, let’s talk about your opposition to friends with benefits.”
Saron breathed out a long-suffering sigh. “You are like a dog with a bone. I believe that’s the correct 21st-century saying.”
“I call it tenacity,” Avery quipped. “It’s what makes me so effective with research.”
“All right, I’ll respond to your query. I suppose I believe that divine connection without the depth of emotion is not as satisfying. My Vibesync is perfectly capable of scratching that itch.”
“Really? What’s a Vibesync? A futuristic version of a vibrator?” Avery guessed, stifling a fit of laughter.
“Yes, exactly. The new and improved version of a 21st-century vibrator. It adapts to the personal preferences of the user automatically.”
Avery grinned. “Hmm, I’d like to get my hands on one of those. Any chance you can replicate one for me?” She held up her hand. “I know. It would be a waste of your precious power cell. By the way, no one says ‘scratching that itch’ anymore. It’s sort of disturbing if you think about it, comparing sex to scratching an itch, especially since most itches mean there is an underlying health issue. You do know that several sexually transmitted diseases can cause itching—chlamydia, genital herpes, pubic lice, and gonorrhea, just to name a few. Seems a bit ironic that the thing causing the itch might be used to offer relief. Don’t you think?”
“That is a good point, Avery.”
Scene 2:
Avery held out her hand. “We really shouldn’t waste a minute of our time together. The clock started ticking the minute Captain Grimes ended her transmission. I say we give that cyberstrap of yours a spin. Ooh, or maybe the synthstimupulse. That was a lot of fun.”
“I could replicate a holotouch divinator?”
“How does something with holo in the name even work? I’m picturing futuristic porn displayed in glorious 3-D detail.”
Saron wrinkled her nose. “Not exactly, but it does combine three senses, sight, touch, and sound, and can be programmed in thousands of different play scenarios.”
“Yes, please, replicate a holotouch divinator.”
“I really shouldn’t have replicated any of those items. If Captain Grimes knew how many rules I’ve broken, I doubt she would have advocated for me.”
Terminology:
Divine Connection Assistive Devices (Cyberstrap, Synthstimupulse, Holotouch Divinator, Vibesync): A general term for various sex toys.
