While attending an outstanding leadership training, this saying stuck in my head, “You can buy my hands and my back, but I volunteer my heart and my brain.” I was reminded of this saying yesterday as I struggled with wondering what contribution I’ll end up making in the new organization forming as a result of… Read More I Volunteer My Heart & My Brain
Romance writers should be able to think creatively about Valentine’s Day and offer an over the top romantic experience for their one and only. Dang. I fall extremely short on this expectation. My wife, on the other hand, is wonderful at this. Every year she sends me the most beautiful box of chocolates. I’ve… Read More Love is in the Air…

Of course, like most everyone else I have plenty of things I need to change about myself, but that isn’t why people are perplexed. The shock probably originates from the perception that others have… Read More Resolutions…Smesolutions (Yes I Know This Is Not A Word)
I moved to the Pacific Northwest thirty years ago having lived almost my whole life in the snowy, chilly, Midwest. I briefly lived in Flagstaff, Arizona which is an elevation of seven thousand so the winters there were equally snowy. My first year in Seattle, the city had a blizzard-their words not mine-with almost four… Read More Let it Snow…Let it Snow…Let it Snow
