I’m honored to introduce Louisa Kelley and her book, Fianna the Gold. Super cool that she lives near me….well as close as pretty much anyone can get considering I live in the middle of nowhere. How about a few short Q & As to start. Introduce yourself. This is Louisa Kelley, fantasy romance, and dragon-obsessed… Read More Fianna the Gold Blog Tour
A very dear reader shared this word with me because she said it reminded her of the characters in my books. My very first reaction was to write a blog about it because how else would I be able to honor a word so deliciously fabulous? Then I began to second guess myself because that… Read More Flawsome
I’ve often joked about my made-up word, romash, to describe my books. What I realized recently, with the help of some readers, is that a more accurate description of what I write is a romance with subtext. I love the definition of subtext: “an underlying and often distinct theme in a piece of writing or… Read More Subtext
Shit happens when you get older. Yes, really, it does. I forget a lot more today than I did even five years ago. My wife and I are good-natured about this inevitable part of maturing. We joke about not remembering squatola as we enter our final phase together. Hopefully, we will remember we are married… Read More An Aging Brain
Okay, yes, I created a brand new word called romash to explain how I combine topics like romance and something else (sci-fi, fantasy, paranormal, etc), but combining politics and eroticism…you must think I’m out of my bloody mind. And yet, that is sort of what I did in Pleasure Workers. I tried to think of… Read More Politics and Eroticism
Recently, I read this blog that was posted in a Facebook group about the new trend— forming a “personal relationship” with readers. I suppose with the flood of new authors into the market, not just in Lesfic/WLW, but mainstream as well, authors have to do more marketing on their own and apparently, this is the… Read More Personal Relationships in Lesfic/WLW
As often happens, I get my ideas for blogs when I read an interesting thread on Facebook. This week, I read something about the absence of men in Lesfic/WLW or alternately, when men do show up they aren’t portrayed positively in the story. To be honest, I haven’t put this under a microscope to any… Read More Men in Lesfic/WLW…
This week’s blog is going to be relatively short because I still got a whole weekend left to celebrate with my wife. Apparently turning 60 is a big deal to her….gonna go with the flow and eke out every little bit of pampering I can get! But that is not the topic I want to talk… Read More A Different Kind of Badass
I’m about to reach a milestone in my life and honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about it. I’ve always been one of those people to take another birthday with a grain of salt. Birthdays were not big deals when I was growing up. I never got to invite a bunch of kids to… Read More A Major Milestone…
I am a packrat in all aspects of my life. I hang on to things that have meaning and sometimes much to my wife’s despair, things that aren’t worth anything. This was a huge point of contention when we were downsizing from our large home on three acres to our small condo on the lake. … Read More Readers: The Forgotten Heros and Heroines – Gems I Hold Dear…
